The smooth black base does not look bulky beside my monitor, and the floating car adds all the character.
It is not hard once you know the balance point, but I would not call the first setup instant. Go slowly with the empty disc.
I tried my purple sports car on a light shelf with a leafy plant behind it. The dark base and blue rim make the model pop without needing a dark room.
The blue edge light looks especially good at night.
Visitors first ask if there is a clear rod holding the car. It is fun to show them how the disc is actually suspended.

The dark racing model with its yellow and red details looks great above the black base. I photographed it on a white grid tabletop so the blue edge light would stand out.
I put the green racing car on a narrow shelf for the photo. With no busy background, the gap between the car and the blue-lit base is easy to see.
My photo shows the green model over the base on a dark table in front of light curtains. The blue rim adds just enough color to that corner.
The dark racing car floats beside a red display piece in my photo. The blue line under it makes the car stand out from all the brighter things on that shelf.
I used the stand with my own purple model and left its doors open. On the slatted table in the photo, the car seems to hover just above the blue-lit base.
The photo shows me holding the small black disc over the center of the lit base. Lowering it slowly worked much better than dropping it into position.
My orange racing car sits above the black base on my wood desk, with a slim blue-purple line around the edge. The gap is clear in the photo and looks even better in person.

My first model was too wide for the little disc. A smaller, balanced one displayed much better.
The car floats beautifully while the base has power. I had missed that it is not a battery-powered display, so plan a spot near an outlet.
I spent longer than expected centering my model on the disc. Once I found the right position, it looked great, but setup requires patience.
For this photo I left the doors open on my purple car and set the stand on a wooden home-office desk. The floating pose makes those details much easier to notice.
Instead of being one more item on my crowded shelf, my favorite model is now at eye level and easy to admire.
The base gives one car a proper stage. I would not try to crowd it with several pieces.
I can see the floating disc beneath the car and the little space above the base. That side view sells the illusion.
It gives my home office a little movement without taking over the workspace.
Bought this for a friend who collects model cars. The blue ring and floating car got an immediate reaction.
The floating gap is small but unmistakable.
The ring is visible under the floating piece, but it does not throw a harsh light across my desk.
It is a lovely stationary display, but even a bump to the table can disturb the balance. I keep it in a quiet corner.
A level tabletop made the biggest difference for me. Once I moved it away from a metal shelf, the balance was much easier to find.
This turns one favorite model into a display on its own. It is more fun than lining everything up behind glass.
The base is wide enough to look intentional, yet compact enough for the corner of my bookcase.
The first few attempts were awkward, then I felt the disc settle into place. Take it slowly and it becomes much easier.
This works best where nobody will knock the table. I bought it as a showcase for one model and it does that beautifully.
This feels more personal than another car model because it gives a favorite one a new way to be displayed.
I chose the base by itself because I wanted to display a collectible I already owned. Glad that option exists.
